WRC

Review:

WRC is the official streaming app of the FIA World Rally Championship, published as Rally TV by WRC Promoter GmbH. One thing to clear up right away: this is not a racing game. You do not drive a rally car in it. Instead, it puts the real championship on your phone, so you can watch every stage of every WRC and ERC event live or on demand, follow the standings as they change, and catch up with highlights, documentaries, and onboard cameras whenever you have time.

The current version on this page is v7.5.5.0, and the official package name is laola1.wrc. The file is about 24MB, so it downloads quickly, and it runs on Android 7.1 and above. The app itself is free to download, with free videos and highlights included, while full live coverage of every stage is unlocked with a Rally TV subscription. This guide covers the genuine app: what it offers, how live streaming and live timing work, its best features, safe installation steps, and answers to the questions rally fans ask most.

What is WRC?

WRC is the official video and streaming app of the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) and the FIA European Rally Championship (ERC). It has been on Google Play since 2014 and has passed a million installs, which makes it the long-running home for rally coverage on Android rather than a new, untested app. Everything inside it comes from the championship itself: the live broadcasts, the timing data, the news, and the archive footage.

The app covers a full rally weekend from Shakedown to the Power Stage. That matters because rally is not a single race on a single track. Cars run one at a time against the clock over many stages spread across several days, on gravel, tarmac, snow, and mud. Following that kind of event from results alone is hard, and that is exactly what this app is built to fix: live pictures, live times, and replays in one place.

You can use WRC on your phone or tablet, and the same Rally TV service also works on PC and Smart TV, so a stage you start on your phone can be finished on a bigger screen at home. A free account gives you extra content beyond the free videos, including the WRC Predictor game, while a paid Rally TV pass unlocks the full live and on-demand library.

WRC APK Download Latest Version:

The latest version on this page is v7.5.5.0, the full Android release of the official WRC app. It is free to download, and the genuine build from WRC Promoter GmbH carries the package name laola1.wrc. Before installing any copy from anywhere else, check that package name: anything with a different package name is a different app using a similar name, not the official championship app.

At about 24MB, the file is small for a video app, because the heavy lifting happens when you stream rather than at install time. You will still want a stable connection for watching, and a Wi-Fi connection is the sensible choice for long live stages, since video uses far more data than the download itself. Make sure your phone runs Android 7.1 or newer before installing.

WRC Live Streaming: Every Stage Live and On Demand:

Live streaming is the heart of the app. With a Rally TV pass, you can watch every stage of every WRC and ERC event live as it happens, or catch up later with full replays. If you miss a morning loop of stages, you do not have to piece the day together from short clips: the full stage replays, extended highlights, and stage recaps are there to watch in order.

The coverage goes beyond the stage action itself. Onboard cameras put you inside the car for the driver's view of the road, which is the closest most fans will ever get to a rally cockpit, and studio shows and documentaries fill the gaps between competitive action. The app also holds over 1,000 hours of archive footage, so classic stages and historic moments are available alongside the current season.

Also try Rush Hour.

For fans who cannot watch live, the on-demand library is what makes the app worth keeping all season. You can follow a rally at your own pace, skip to the stages that mattered, and rewatch the moments that decided the result, without waiting for a television highlights show.

WRC Live Timing, Results and News:

Watching rally without timing is only half the picture, because the gaps between cars are measured in seconds and tenths. During an event, the app gives you live timing and results, including overall standings, split times, stage times, the event itinerary, and retirements. That means you can see a lead change the moment it happens, even if you are only glancing at your phone.

Live timing is especially useful when you cannot watch video, for example while driving to work or sitting in a meeting. A quick check tells you who leads, who lost time on the last stage, and who has retired, and the news section keeps you up to date with championship stories between events. Together, timing and news turn the app into a second screen even for fans who watch the main broadcast on television.

WRC Predictor Game and the 24/7 Rally TV Channel:

Two extras make the app more than a video player. The first is the WRC Predictor game: create a free account, make your picks for each rally, and compete with rally fans around the world to see whose predictions hold up. It costs nothing to enter, and it gives every event a second layer of interest even if your favourite driver is out of contention.

The second is the 24/7 Rally TV channel, a non-stop stream of rally action that runs even when no event is live. It mixes live coverage during events with historic stages, best moments, and studio shows, so there is always something rally-related to put on in the background. If you are new to the sport, the channel is also an easy way in: leave it running and you will quickly learn the drivers, the cars, and the way a rally weekend unfolds.

WRC for Android: How to Download and Install:

Installing the app from this page takes only a few minutes. Follow these steps in order, and do not skip the security check in step four.

1. Tap the download button on this page to get the WRC APK file. The file is about 24MB, so it downloads quickly on Wi-Fi or mobile data.

2. Open Settings, then Security, and allow installation from unknown sources for your browser or file manager. On newer Android versions, this permission is granted per app, so allow it only for the app you are installing from.

3. Open your Downloads folder, tap the APK file, and follow the on-screen prompts to install it. If Android warns you about the file, check that it is the 24MB file from this page before continuing.

4. After installing, open Settings, then Apps, then WRC, and confirm the package name is laola1.wrc. If it shows a different package name, uninstall it immediately and download again from this page.

5. Open the app, sign in or create a free account, and browse what is live now, what is coming next, and the replays you may have missed. If you want every stage live, you can take out a Rally TV pass inside the app, and you can manage or cancel it from your app settings at any time.

Also try Drift Legends 2.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Is WRC free to download?

Yes. WRC is free to download, and it includes free videos and highlights. Full live coverage of every stage, the complete on-demand library, and the 24/7 channel experience are unlocked with a Rally TV subscription, available as a Monthly pass or an Annual pass inside the app.

Is WRC a racing game?

No. WRC is the official streaming app of the FIA World Rally Championship, not a game. It shows real rallies, real drivers, and real results. If you want to drive instead of watch, the racing games linked on this page, such as Traffic Motos 3 and Drift Legends 2, are the ones to try.

What does a Rally TV subscription unlock?

A Rally TV pass unlocks full access: every stage of every WRC and ERC event live and on demand, plus replays, documentaries, onboard cameras, and the archive. Without a pass, you can still watch free videos and highlights and play the WRC Predictor game with a free account.

Can I watch WRC offline?

No. Live stages and on-demand videos stream over the internet, so you need a connection to watch. The app is best used on Wi-Fi for long sessions, since video streaming uses much more data than the small 24MB install file.

Which Android version do I need for WRC?

The current version needs Android 7.1 or newer. The file is about 24MB, so it fits easily on most phones, but leave some extra free space for the app's data and cache as you stream through a season.
